La Victorian Bulldog Alliance est un registre qui cherche à maintenir la santé et les caractéristiques du Victorian Bulldog en suivant le standard de race créé par Ken Mollett tout en mettant en œuvre de légers changements pour améliorer la santé globale, le type, la conformation et le tempérament du Victorian Bulldog. / The Victorian Bulldog Alliance is a registry that seeks to maintain the health and characteristics of the Victorian Bulldog by following the breed standard created by Ken Mollett while implementing small changes to improve the overall health, type, conformation and temperament of the Victorian Bulldog.
La VBA enregistre trois types de souches alternatives, l'un étant le Victorian Bullldog, le second étant le Old Tyme Bulldog et le dernier, tout récemment, le Old English Bulldog.
L'objectif du VBA est de produire des bulldogs en bonne santé un chien robuste et plus équilibré. / The VBA registers three types of alternative stock, one being the Victorian Bullldog, the second being the Old Tyme Bulldog and the last, most recently, the Old English Bulldog. The VBA's aim is to produce healthy bulldogs that are robust and well-balanced.
Acting as a registry for the following breeds, not recognised by the FCI/KC (to date):
Victorian Bulldog, (VB) English selection of alternative Bulldogs since 1985, the main breed of the VBA.
Old Tyme Bulldog, (Old Tyme) breeding programme recognised to date back to the late 1980s in England.
Old English Bulldog, (OEB) American selection which began in 1971 with David Leavitt and the now named Leavitt Bulldog. To this day, the OEB can be found just about everywhere on the planet and has followed the divergent points of view of its breeders and the effects of fashion. The VBA and VBA Europe are and will remain very strict with registered EPOs.
The Old Tyme and the EPO are two types of alternative bulldog that can be included in the VB selection, which is why the VBA recognises them.
The VBA Europe aims to
To provide a framework for those involved in registered breeds, i.e. breeders or private owners. Standards, advice, etc.
To promote registered breeds.
To inform its members about the evolution of practices and directives.
To encourage ethical breeding practices and promote breeders who willingly comply with them.
To issue registration certificates for each subject, as well as pedigree certificates.
To contribute to the preservation and improvement of registered breeds.
Agissant tel un registre pour les races suivantes, non reconnues FCI (à ce jour) :
Victorian Bulldog, (VB) sélection anglaise de Bulldogs alternatifs depuis 1985, la race principale de la VBA.
Old Tyme Bulldog, (Old Tyme) programme d'élevage reconnu pour remonter à la fin des années 1980, en Angleterre.
Old English Bulldog, (OEB) sélection américaine qui démarra en 1971 avec David Leavitt et le désormais nommé Leavitt Bulldog. L'OEB est, à ce jour, présent un peu partout sur la planète et a suivi les divergences de point de vue de ses sélectionneurs et effets de mode. La VBA et la VBA Europe sont et resteront très strictes avec les OEB enregistrés.
L'Old Tyme et l'OEB sont deux types de bulldogs alternatifs pouvant intégrer la sélection du VB, c'est la raison pour laquelle la VBA les reconnait.
La VBA Europe a pour but :
D'apporter un cadre aux acteurs des races enregistrées, à savoir éleveurs ou simple propriétaire particulier. Standards, conseils etc.
Promouvoir les races enregistrées.
Informer ses adhérents sur l'évolution des pratiques et directives.
Encourager les pratiques éthiques d'élevage et promouvoir les éleveurs se pliant de leur bon gré à ces dernières.
Délivrer des certificats d'enregistrement pour chaque sujet, ainsi que des certificats relatant leur généalogie (pedigree).
Contribuer à la préservation et veiller à l'amélioration des races enregistrées.
